Thomas Anderson from SAP will present Efficiently Comply with Lease Accounting Standards using SAP Contract and Lease Management

Comply with IFRS16 and other lease accounting standards while effectively managing the entire lease lifecycle. See how SAP Contract and Lease Management helps you manage lease payments, renewal and termination options, rent adjustments and lease modifications with native integration with SAP Finance. During this session, the presenter will provide a solution overview and explain how SAP Contract and Lease Management is designed specifically for SAP Finance customers. A demo will show how lease payments are generated with native integration into Accounts Payable and the required IFRS16 lease accounting entries will be posted based on the abstracted terms and conditions of the lease. The lease will then be modified to show how financials entries are adjusted to aligned with the current contract terms and conditions. The presenter will also discuss available project accelerators and resources to help you with your implementation as well as a question-and-answer session.

With the introduction of the new accounting standard for leases, IFRS16 in January 2019, lease accounting will be the focus of increasing attention during 2020. SAP’s solution for the requirements for property leases under the new standard is RE-FX. The Real Estate SIG provides a forum for existing and potential users of the SAP RE-FX (Flexible Real Estate) module to come together and share experiences, tips and tricks in its use.
