Graeme Hughes and Nick McFetrich from NTT Data Business Solutions will be presenting RISE with SAP – 1 year on and still rising?

RISE with SAP was launched by CEO Christian Klein at the end of January 2021 to much fanfare. In the weeks and months following reporters, analysts, resellers, and SI’s wrote thousands of words explaining, dissecting, and in many cases criticising SAP’s motivations behind “Business Transformation as a Service.”

What is clear however, is that in launching RISE, SAP are placing a huge bet on the way in which their applications will be sold, implemented, managed, and enhanced from now on. If you are an existing SAP customer then you must ensure that you are informed and aware of the implications for your current investments and future plans. As we surpass the anniversary of the original announcement, RISE with SAP has continued to evolve. Whether we are talking about providing tools to be better prepared for the journey with SAP Business Process Intelligence, addressing industry requirements through the “RISE with SAP for Industries” initiative, or enabling the Intelligent Enterprise with line of business flavours such as “RISE with SAP for HXM”, RISE is anything but a static proposition. At the core of RISE with SAP is of course the SAP S/4HANA software as a service, there are options for prospective customers to consider, be that SAP S/4HANA Cloud or the SAP S/4HANA Private Edition. Customers also have the choice of infrastructure, SAP provided or Hyperscale. That is before we discuss the various extensions and industry capabilities mentioned previously.

It is not difficult to see why so many customers are confused about the options and implications of RISE with SAP. In this session NTT Data Business Solutions will draw on knowledge gained as one of SAP’s largest and most experienced global partners in order to share insights into RISE with SAP. (From being one of a select number of RISE launch partners, to real world experiences from their initial number of customer RISE with SAP projects). They will layout a practical set of steps that can be taken to help your organisation understand if RISE with SAP is the right solution for you, as you consider your pathway to the intelligent enterprise.

Amanda Gardiner from SAP will look to discuss an introduction on what an Industry Value Advisor is and where the team fit into SAP’s Approach to support Customer Success from Value Discover to Value Realisation.

Amanda will talk about how their team assist customers with SAP's ‘Move the Needle’ approach which is where they compare pre-defined select Key Performance Indicators of a company with its peers/competitors based on publicly available information and show incremental benefits.

There will also be Business Cases – SAP can build outside-in cases for change or can create deep-dive collaborative business cases with customers, linking process capabilities, products, value/benefits, cost and project economics.

Finally Performance Bench Marketing where SAP help organisations benchmark key business metrics and identify critical process maturity gaps in an objective manner through guided maturity models. Amanda will also provide real customer examples from her team on how these sessions help.

We will also have a customer-led roundtable about getting your S/4 Project approved.

This will be led by Emma Chambers from NATS, who will share their story of how they gained exec sponsorship for their S/4 programme and can talk through some of the strategies they employed to build engagement, support and ultimately got approval for the programme.
