Join us at your first Higher Education and Research get together for 2022 and hear from ….

Colin Colegate from SAP will provide an SAP Update where he will cover the latest offerings from SAP relevant for the Higher Education sector. He will also provide news from the UK sector, from the last 2 years.

Leighton Joskey and Michael Koch from Warwick University will take a brief look at Warwick University’s Journey to S/4HANA from business case through to cut over plan and beyond. They will look at how they used an external partner to combine waterfall and agile approaches, how they delivered project assurance while keeping things flexible, and some of the key technical hurdles they had to overcome.

While this session is focused on implementing S/4 on prem in a Higher Education environment, we are happy to welcome any user group members to the session.

NTT Data will be providing a session on Providing Safe Transformation & Upgrade Journeys for Higher Education & Research. Following on from the SAP update presentation, Nick Gibson will be reviewing the challenges faced by some institutions in the sector in upgrading their ERP solutions, and Simon Williams will focus on the approach to determine and take advantage of the upgrade options that are best suited to your individual situations. This will include taking advantage of the new options due to be announced by SAP.

UKISUG will also provide an update around what they have planned throughout 2022.

The group exists as a forum for members to share their common interests and to foster collaboration across the sector. Members have a broad interest across the whole SAP landscape as well as more specialist HE&R products. We see SIGS as an opportunity to network and collaborate and share experiences and look for opportunities to work together. We have common interests and are able to work with our partners and SAP on sector wide initiatives. Recently the HERSIG has organised showcases for SuccessFactors and S/4 with a focus on their use in Higher Education.

Leighton Joskey has been an IT professional for over 20 years, in a career that has taken in database and application design, development, maintenance and support, customer relationship management, process improvement, IT strategy, team management and more. Leighton has moved on a long way from his COBOL, CICS and DB/2 origins - he is now the Head of SAP and Finance systems at the University of Warwick, working with his team to deliver a robust SAP service and extending and improving the many benefits SAP delivers to the University.
