To learn more about how CCH Tagetik has enabled Carmeuse’s digital transformation, we spoke with Pierre Lequy, BI Manager, about the challenges faced before CCH Tagetik and the benefits gained using our comprehensive CPM solution.
What were the biggest challenges you faced before CCH Tagetik?
To give you some background, before CCH Tagetik, we primarily used different systems.
The main issue we encountered with these systems was rigidity. We couldn’t add new scenarios for sub-consolidations or create a cash flow report. Another big challenge was that these legacy consolidation and planning systems were unmaintained.
What were you looking for in a consolidation and planning solution?
Four things drove our choice of solution:
1. We were looking for a single interface for consolidation and planning.
2. We wanted a tool that would provide the flexibility our legacy systems lacked.
3. It was important for us to have an integrated reporting tool.
4. We wanted software that’s open to future evolutions.
A long-term vision was very important to us, both in customer support and in the vendor’s ability to follow the market and evolving regulatory rules.
How have your financial management processes changed since switching to CCH Tagetik?
We discovered CCH Tagetik thanks to their partner, Element 61. Since then, we’ve seen really big changes from our previous consolidation application. We can now spread the responsibility across our main region and at the group level during consolidation.
We’ve also seen significant changes to our reporting process. Now, we can use CCH Tagetik’s capabilities to control data before finalizing consolidation and plans. We’ve also found the graphical workflow to be incredibly beneficial.
Would you recommend CCH Tagetik to your peers?
As we say in Brussels, “Non peut-être,” which means, “Yes, of course!”
