Boost for your HR: AI in SAP SuccessFactors

Published on

According to a Bitkom survey, two out of three companies consider AI to be the most important future technology. But only half actually use AI. Many companies say they want to wait for other people's experiences first - but the technology offers great potential, especially for HR. Three applications of the SAP solution SuccessFactors show how this can work and where the limits currently lie.

AI in SAP SuccessFactors brings...

  • Time savings in the recruiting process
  • individualized employee development
  • reduced burden on HR in daily business

1. Generative AI: Booster for recruiting

Fast and effective recruiting processes? In SAP SuccessFactors, generative AI currently supports two recurring use cases to enable exactly that. On the one hand, when creating job descriptions. With the help of generative AI, these can be generated in an appealing way and with just one click of the mouse. On the other hand, through integration with Microsoft Teams, HR can have interview questions suggested for the job interview - in several languages.

2. Talent Intelligence Hub: Career development booster

As a central framework, the Talent Intelligence Hub changes the perspective: instead of prescribing rigid career paths from within the company, as was previously the case, the focus is now on the personality of the employee themselves. The power of AI is to bring together the interests of employees and the company by aggregating personality data with company data. In this way, certain further training courses or job offers are recommended according to the self-stated strengths and goals. A classic win-win approach: Employees advance their own development and stay motivated - companies identify the most suitable fit for a specific task based on the stated strengths and goals.

3. Co-pilot “Joule”: Booster for everyday HR

As a chatbot, Joule in SAP SuccessFactors offers support in everyday work. The focus is on three areas: First, carrying out transactions such as name changes or feedback requests. Employees no longer have to laboriously search for these in the system, but can send queries to Joule in natural language and the AI assistant will guide them through the entire process with questions. Second, working with and visualizing aggregated data. Would you like to see all employees of an interdisciplinary project team? No problem, that should also be possible soon! Joule can combine data sets from different modules to get the desired result. Third, conversation skills. Do you have questions about certain topics, such as how much special leave you are entitled to at a wedding? Joule responds immediately, eliminating the need for a time-consuming request to HR.

AI as a daily companion with a lot of potential

Three applications, three examples that show where AI stands in SAP SuccessFactors and what the tools can already achieve today. AI may not (yet) be the technological savior - but it already supports HR teams specifically in their HR work. In summary, we see the greatest potential of AI in two areas: Firstly, in the ability to automatically generate and translate content. On the other hand, the ability to derive structures from aggregated data and establish connections that go far beyond human understanding.
