Delivering SAP EWM and Mobility in the Food Industry

Published on

We are pleased to be kicking the new year off on a project with one of our longstanding customers, implementing SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and our SAP supply chain mobility solution, PreBilt™, at its UK national distribution centre.

The customer, a global multinational food manufacturer, operates SAP ECC at many of its sites internationally, and was looking to extend the use of the ERP system to its UK NDC, which currently utilises a non-SAP WMS that has reached end of life.

The customer turned to us for this project due to our previous successful experiences working together for many years on several SAP projects, combined with our proven SAP EWM expertise. Our EWM specialists were tasked with helping the customer understand the viability of implementing the solution at the UK site. Delivering a detailed blueprint for the SAP EWM implementation, we recommended the integration of PreBilt for EWM to make the system easier to use for operators on-site, as SAP’s standard mobile solution for EWM can be difficult for operatives to navigate.

We will now be implementing SAP EWM, including PreBilt, at the site, which will see our team build, test, and configure SAP EWM on ECC, working closely with the internal team to ensure it is tailored specifically to the customers’ needs.

Deployed to 70 devices, PreBilt’s intuitive user interface will allow users to execute all the NDC’s core EWM processes quickly and easily. In addition, the highly configurable design means the customer can easily change the layout of the screens to customise the solution to its specific operation, with no need for any development work.

Included in our services, we will be co-ordinating change management activities, including EWM and PreBilt training and cutover management. We will also be supporting user acceptance testing, go-live, and hypercare, and providing training to key users to facilitate future onboarding.

Furthermore, the customer will benefit from our business as usual (BAU) support following go-live to ensure both the EWM system and PreBilt continue to run at optimum capacity.

Commenting on our latest win, our head of sales, Paul Fraser, said: “We are excited to be kicking off a new project with our longstanding customer.”

“Developing a strong understanding of the business and its processes over many years of work together, we were well placed to deliver on all requirements for this project and we can’t wait to get started!”
