Connecting with the community at UKISUG Connect 2022

Published on

With 2022’s UKISUG CONNECT conference now in the rear-view mirror, it is incredible to look back on this year’s event and reflect on how many of you were able to join us in Birmingham for two and a half days of networking and learning. The conference had a real buzz, as many of you took the opportunity to catch up with peers whilst brushing up your knowledge on the latest SAP related developments.

In total, we brought together more than 70 SAP partners and 600 SAP customers whilst offering 90+ hours of educational content. The event also saw some fantastic keynotes, including Michiel Verhoeven, Managing Director SAP UK&I giving us insight into the company’s plans for the future. We also had an informative keynote from Mark Bolton, IT Director at Unipart, on its journey with S/4HANA, RISE and BTP. It was also apt that our closing keynote focussed on the relentless need for businesses to change, with Dame Inga Beale sharing her tips on how to evolve as a modern transparent leader.

At CONNECT, we also shared the results of our member survey. The research highlighted that 9 in 10 organisations are using or planning to use SAP S/4HANA, but concerns remain around the skills and training required to implement and manage it. So, we were pleased to announce that we will be launching our UKISUG S/4HANA Academy in 2023, to help fill the gap between deep dive technical training and business user training.

Another highlight was our SUGFest event. Fingers crossed you were all able to let your hair down at SUGFest in the Sun and enjoy some of the amazing entertainment on offer. ‘Drageoke’ was a highlight, with some fantastic talent taking to the stage alongside the professional drag acts.

We wouldn’t be able to make CONNECT happen without our volunteers, so we would also like to say a huge thank you to all of you who gave your time at the event, as well as our partners and SAP.

UKISUG CONNECT is the cornerstone of the SAP community, and we are proud that it remains one of the best places to get the latest updates on SAP’s product development as well as learn and network with people in the wider community.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a look back at this year’s event without saying that we can’t wait to welcome everyone back next year so we can continue to support our amazing community.
