The company went live with its first EWM warehouse hub in 2020 on SAP S/4HANA. The site functions as a storage facility for spare parts which service both fixed plant and vehicle assets. It operates with an array of equipment and technology including Materials Handling Equipment (MHE), Radio Frequency (RF) Devices, and a Hänel vertical lift solution.
Although the EWM solution was live and stable, the anticipated improvements in operational efficiency after the go-live were limited. Recognising that the business benefits of EWM could be maximised, the customer engaged us to conduct a solution assessment for the warehouse to evaluate its current EWM usage and identify potential improvements.
The outcome of our assessment identified several key areas, which required development, relating to receiving, despatch and reporting activities, including:
Following our review, our specialist EWM consultants will support the customer to translate the key areas for improvement into actions, helping the business achieve tangible and noticeable improvements in warehouse activities.
Furthermore, we will be leading a series of in-depth workshops for each improvement area to outline the roadmap for the range of solutions, including system and configuration changes, as well as business process and role changes. As part of the solution implementation, we will be providing full documentation and knowledge transfer.
