Accelerating Action – What does 2025 hold for the Women in SAP Community?

The UKISUG Women in SAP community continues to grow, with accelerating engagement from partners and members from all quarters of the SAP ecosystem. This movement is crucial – and now is the time to keep our foot to the pedal. In line with the theme of International Women’s Day 2025, Accelerate Action, we need to continue to deliver a vibrant community for women and allies in the technology industry.

We continue to build momentum throughout 2025, with more events, designed to reach more women and allies than ever before – and deliver tangible results for our members. Read on to discover our priorities for this year…

Reaching the wider Women in SAP community

We are delivering an ambitious programme of events this year. A major goal is to reach our members across different regions. We are running events – ranging from large symposia to smaller executive connectors – in a number of UK cities, including Manchester and London, and plan to hold a key event for our Irish cohort in the autumn. Together with our valued sponsors, we are planning targeted workshops aimed at supporting women’s development – on topics from boosting your personal brand to speaker training, to gaining negotiating skills.

We will hold our flagship event in London in the summer on the theme of the “Broken Rung” in leadership and we continue to run our popular monthly mentoring sessions. The mentoring sessions are one hour long, open to a small group of women, and led by a different mentor from our community each month. These informal sessions are an opportunity for women to come together on a wide range of topics related to navigating their careers in the SAP community.

These varied activities offer a wider choice to women and allies to connect, learn and share with other members of the community, at diverse events and in different locations.

The continued importance of diversity

In the face of attempts in some quarters to roll back DEI initiatives, it is encouraging to see some organisations – such as Apple – push back and reaffirm their commitments to achieving gender parity in the workplace. At UKISUG, we have a very strong commitment to supporting our female community, and we have the opportunity to continue to champion diversity among a highly engaged group.

We continue to champion our values in 2025. While supporting individuals with a clearer pathway to success is vital, we need to remember that increasing diversity and inclusion is essential for every member and partner organisation of UKISUG. DEI will remain front and centre for UKISUG and driving the Women in SAP community is a core part of this commitment. Diversity is not a nice to have, it's a must have.
