About Focus Groups Community Chairs Past Events

Wichever definition you prefer, and there are more; the role of an Enterprise Architect is to try and pull the essential details from many different technical and business domains, make sense of it and communicate it as one overall story or roadmap.


This Community tries to help Enterprise Architects, by giving them access to essential information about SAP products and strategy


The Community is aimed at Enterprise Architects and at decision-making roles in business or IT, addressing questions such as:

  • Making mode 1 and mode 2 work in real world
  • Dealing with new / transformational technology and embedding it in business processes (Machine Learning, Blockchain)
  • Getting in front of future business needs with systems of innovation with design-led approach and prototypes
  • Move to cloud - why and how?


The Enterprise Architecture Focus Group has been introduced into the UKISUG calendar specifically for members that meet the below requirements:


Essential Technology Experience:

  • Appreciation of architecting SAP solutions including ERP, BW, SCP, S/4HANA, BI, SAP Business Networks
  • Experience in architecting multiple SAP systems and integrating them into the existing environment.
  • Implementation experience of business processes across the SAP landscape including systems such as .. Warehouse Management, Finance, Logistics, Production Planning and Sales and Distribution.
  • Experience of developing blueprints and roadmaps for future operating models.
  • Experience in workflow and business process orchestration.

Essential Architecture Experience:

  • Definition of baseline and target architectures, across multiple domains, in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Assess and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of proposed options.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base of the Group’s Enterprise Architecture, including models and architectural views of supporting business, application and technology domains.
  • Provide consultancy support in strategic decision making through the use of architectural models.
  • Solid understanding of Reference Models.
  • Provide input to the Technology Departments Strategy.

The event excludes roles such as:

  • ABAP developers
  • Companies with limited/v small SAP installations
  • Project managers
  • Roles in IT operations
