THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE FACE-TO-FACE

We have ran two successful symposiums in Dublin so far and will be returning this year in June. Take a look at our jam packed agenda:

Session Details

Simon Carpenter from SAP will present Stepping into the Future with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

There are very few companies that have not lived through the trials and tribulations of an ERP implementation and its subsequent entrenchment as a mission-critical enterprise backbone. Most are therefore understandably concerned about the challenges of doing it all over again as they contemplate the move to SAP S/4HANA. The reality is that the world and technology have moved on substantially since SAP ECC 6.0 was laid down. It is now time to step into the digital future with a modern, modular, cloud ERP in the form of SAP S/4HANA. In this session we will look at how RISE with SAP is designed to ease the path to this more innovative digital core and what SAP offers to help customers get the most from both the transition and ongoing transformation.

Jonathan Lake from AWS will present RISE with SAP and Data Transformation

Many organisations are looking to plan the journey to SAP S/4 and RISE is a bundled subscription service which is available. As part of the strategy many organisations are looking to clean the core SAP system and to apply a data driven approach to your SAP transformation.

AWS explore the journey to SAP data transformation, how to deploy, with some really tangible use cases. AWS has some steps that enable this transformation approach.

Turlough P. Farrelly from Lakeland Dairies will present How Lakeland Dairies chose and built Winshuttle Evolve

Lakeland Dairies selected Winshuttle Evolve to automate its S/4HANA critical business processes and standardise Master Data.

The objective was to achieve centralised Master Data: Structure, re-structure & standardise Master Data (because of acquisitions, there are various processes) creating a central governance office for Master Data primarily to handle complex material data object world.

The key area of focus during the evaluation was within Master Data MM01, MM02, Customer and Vender creation and specifically on the Workflow capability and Data Governance which Winshuttle offers.

Lakeland also got positive customer feedback from Irish peers at ATA Group and Allergan during the evaluation:

  • Incredible time savings but most of all data quality.
  • Key selling point is data governance. Time savings is a consequence. Compliance with Data governance is the driver.
  • Winshuttle EMEA support in London is very reactive

Result:

  • Lakeland has gone live in 2021 on Evolve on S/4 HANA for their Material Master eforms and workflow processes. The new Master Data team built its own solutions coached by Winshuttle consultants.
  • After the first go-live of its Food Ingredients division, the Lakeland Dairies Master Data team was able to quickly adapt the solution to the requirements of another division, Lakeland Dairies Food Services division.
  • Furthermore, with the same Winshuttle Evolve platform, Lakeland Dairies business teams can easily perform Material Price Changes, Customer Price Conditions, update Outbound Deliveries, etc. using Excel as a user interface to automate mass-uploads in SAP.

About Lakeland Dairies:

  • Lakeland Dairies is a major dairy processing co-operative, processing across the northern half of the island of Ireland about 1.8 billion litres of quality milk annually into a range of value added dairy foodservice products and functional dairy food ingredients.
  • With a comprehensive portfolio of 170 different dairy foodservice and food ingredient products, we export to blue-chip customers in 70 countries across the globe. Graeme Hughes from NTT DATA Business Solutions will present Jumpstart your business case for an Intelligent & Sustainable Enterprise

More and more SAP customers are wanting to embrace the vision of the intelligent enterprise. Whether bringing efficiency and agility through intelligent business processes that utilise automation and machine learning, supporting real-time decision making through embedded analytics, or even launching new business models to promote closer relationships with customers and suppliers.

Many organisations NTT speak to see SAP S/4HANA adoption as fundamental to that vision. However, customers are asking many questions considering their move to SAP S/4HANA and how they begin to build the business case, unearth the value and start to plot the right path towards their own intelligent and sustainable enterprise.

In this initial activity NTT will begin to answer the following:

  • Why should I move? What value will it bring?
  • When is the right time to move?
  • What does RISE with SAP bring to the table?
  • How should I move? What are the best suited transition paths? What impact will it have on our current processes?
  • Where should I move to? On premise, data centre or Hyperscaler?
  • What value can they unlock to realise the incremental financial benefit?

NTT DATA Business Solutions will draw on knowledge gained as one of SAP’s largest and most experienced global partners in order to share insights into kick starting your transformation roadmap. They will layout a stepwise approach that can be taken to help your organisation understand the value and opportunity whilst mapping out the next best steps as you consider your pathway to the intelligent and sustainable enterprise.

Ben McGrail and Michael Svensson from Xmateria will present Data as both an opportunity and an obstacle on the road to S/4HANA

The move to S/4HANA gives companies a once in a generation chance to reshape their systems for the future. In an increasingly digital and connected business landscape, data is at the heart of that opportunity.

However, it is also a barrier to change. Years or decades of historical data bring weight, complexity and risk. A recent UKISUG survey concluded that:

  • 64% face challenges around data accuracy and consistency
  • 30% say they have so much data they don’t know where to start in terms of gaining additional value from it
  • 27% say they are unable to process and analyse data fast enough
  • Using real-world examples from customers and other companies, they will discuss: UKISUG members’ data management concerns, how to understand and prepare your data to mitigate the associated risks and costs of the move, and how to choose the migration path which best meets the challenges of your business.

James Barter from Basis Technologies will present Case Study: Why SAP Automation is Crucial When Adopting SAP S/4HANA

How to Manage, align and synchronise changes between ECC and S/4HANA

Many enterprises want to leverage the benefits of S/4HANA but they simply can’t afford business disruption, so embarking on the transition is a daunting prospect. When one of the largest SAP users in the world - a Consumer Packaged Goods company with a highly complex, distributed ECC landscape - decided to embark on the move to S/4HANA they knew it would be a major challenge.

In order to ensure the greatest speed, safety and control, the company selected a variety of automation tools as part of a 'best practice' approach to managing each element of their multi-year migration project. One of the key problems to solve was how to ensure that ECC and S/4HANA systems remained aligned during the period when both were supporting the business.

    Join this session to learn:

  • How DevOps automation is enabling the company's transition from their legacy ECC environment to S/4HANA
  • How automation is supporting their preparation for a move to DevOps and continuous delivery
  • How they have been able to address 'dual maintenance' of ECC and S/4 - one of the most significant technical challenges in S/4 migrations
  • Some of the lessons learned so far

  • Simon Carpenter from SAP will present RISE with SAP - where does it fit in?

SAP launched the technologically advanced SAP S/4HANA in 2015 to provide companies with a digital backbone more suited to the changing business requirements of the post-industrial era.

In 2018 introduced its Intelligent Enterprise strategy and framework to help its customers become Intelligent, Sustainable Enterprises – data-driven and better able to adapt to a fast-changing world.

At the same time, since SAP S/4HANA is the foundation of that strategy, SAP introduced the MOVE program designed to help ECC users transition to SAP S/4HANA.

RISE with SAP was announced in January 2021 as a solution to help companies move to the cloud with SAP taking greater accountability for running the customer’s SAP S/4HANA and other solutions.

This presentation will focus on how all these pieces fit together and why RISE with SAP makes sense in today’s world.

Shantanu Goswami from SAP will present BTP, The gamechanger for RISE with SAP

Darragh Herbert from SAP will present Building a business case with the SAP Value Lifecycle Manger

SAP Value Lifecycle Manager (VLM) helps you develop and manage sustainable SAP investments increasing your chances of delivering your project on-time, on-value and on-budget. With the quick value assessment in VLM, you can estimate business improvements for your organisation based on selected business priorities quickly. The output is especially useful for executive alignments as it calculates the potential benefits for the organisation or business area (including monetary benefits). The calculation of the potential benefits is based on public data (company financial information) and benchmark averages.

In this session, SAP will walk you through an example customer in the Consumer Products industry. This customer wants to move from ECC to S/4HANA. This customer will use the VLM tool to create a business case to get the buy in from their executives.
