FAQ's

How does SAP select which Improvement Requests to develop?

Votes help SAP to prioritize Improvement Requests, but other important selection criteria have to be considered as well:

DESIRABILITY

  • How many customers voted for this?

  • How many customers will benefit from it?

VIABILITY

  • Is this Improvement Request globally relevant?

  • Is this in alignment with SAP’s strategy for the product?

Feasibility

  • Is the development effort realistic?

  • Is this request workable within the product’s architecture?

Will all Improvement Requests (IR) that reach the voting threshold be developed?

No, the voting threshold is required for an IR to be reviewed in the next review cycle. Out of these IRs a decision is made whether this IR is planned for development or not.

Should customers continue to vote for an Improvement Request, although the threshold has already been reached?

Yes. The total number of votes helps SAP to understand the customer demand. The higher the number of votes, the higher the demand. This helps SAP with overall prioritization of the Improvement Request.

Why is the voting threshold different for different sessions?

  • The voting threshold was introduced to help product teams to focus on those requests that are most relevant to the broadest customer base
  • When SAP starts a new session, SAP chooses the voting threshold depending on the customer base
  • Every year SAP reviews and finetunes the parameters of a session

Have SAP employees the right to vote for or to submit an Improvement Request?

No, internal employees are only authorized to view and comment on improvements for SAP Continuous Influence sessions.

May partners / implementation partners enter a Request on behalf of their customers?

No. Since the intellectual property rights for an Improvement Request remain with the company, the improvement requests should be created using the customer's S-User ID.

How do I receive information and updates on a SAP Continuous Influence session?

SAP will provide regular updates through blog posts. Please make sure to “Follow” a session that you are interested in, so that you get notified each time SAP publishes new information.

How do I receive information when a Improvement Request is accepted or delivered?

SAP will update the status of the Improvement Request. This status update will trigger a notification to the voters. The author will receive an email notification if the status is moved to delivered. You can also follow Improvement Requests you are interested in, so that you get notified each time SAP changes a status.
